Even before I met Janet and Jay, I was always blessed by their worship and ministry. I finally had the opportunity to meet them just over a year ago at a youth retreat. They were invited to lead worship and I was invited to preach. So finally we got the chance to formerly meet as well as minister together. Immediately, we were in sync. Ever since then, a friendship and Kingdom partnership were born. I’m privileged to have work with multiple times, but what blesses me the most is that I get to call them my friends. Check out this recent interview with this anointed couple! — Share with us who you are and what you do. Janet and I have been married two and a half years. We currently serve as worship leaders for our church and are vocalists/songwriters for our band, “Currency Red.” Four months ago, we came to Seoul, Korea to lead worship, serve a church plant and a music label that focuses on reaching the 1040 Window. We didn’t plan on a permanent move just yet. We desired a better understanding of the needs of this ministry as well as verify our ability and conviction to effectively minister to this church. After carefully surveying and through much prayer, we were convicted to stay and do God’s work here. We often long for home and our church in NJ that has become our family but as with any mission given by the Lord, we are ready to serve whole-heartedly and lay down our life for this ministry until God gives us a sure conviction that our mission is complete. My favorite annual sporting event has to be March Madness. Although it pales in comparison to the World Cup and the Olympics, it is by far my favorite out of all the annual championships. It’s full of upsets, inspiration, and excitement (especially this year since you can win $1 billion!). Through the years nothing has pumped me up more for March Madness than “One Shining Moment” sung by the one and only, Luther Vandross. Just watch the video above. How can you not be motivated? I think it’s natural for every single one of us to want to have a shining moment of our own – to have a moment where everything just comes together. We might be the underdog, yet we’re able to come through in the clutch and overcome our challenges. However, what I’ve experienced in life is that the moments where we shine on the big stage are rare. Yet each day we are faced with small decisions to be faithful, to do what’s right, and just be the person God has intended us to be. I’d like to think while shining moments are few and far in between, defining moments are there every single day. Defining moments are those times that truly shape who we are and define who we will become. It’s usually those moments when we are alone and are away from the limelight. The Bible says that the Father is looking for worshipers who will worship Him in Spirit and in truth. I believe that God is truly raising up men and women who are lovers of His presence in these last days. These are the people of God who genuinely walk with Him daily. Without a doubt, one of those worshipers is Andrew Meher, who is currently serving as the worship pastor at The River. Andrew Meher & The River practicing for the Open Up the Roof release event This past Sunday I had a chance to sit down and talk with Andrew about worship, revival, and his new album, Open Up the Roof. It was an awesome time of just hearing his heart for the Lord and the region. Many times we want to have great songs rather than a great move of God. Yet we forget that every move of God births new creative expressions of who He is and what He is doing in the here and now. In a way these songs are markers of where we were and where we are going in the things of God. Whenever God moves, He births new anthems.
